EX500 vs. GMX200

There are many reasons why the EX500 is your best choice. Here are a few:

  • EX500 is the easiest to use. The EX500 has incorporated much of the customer feedback of our 1st-generation product into the design of this product. Most important is the EX500's "one-touch" line-select system which keeps virtually all the controls you need right on the main page. Without switching pages or going several menus deep, you can easily select or deselect the data you want to see.
  • EX500 has full overlay capability. The EX500 was designed to view all sensor information right on the Map page. It is the only MFD in the market that can display your XM Weather or Radar, along with traffic, terrain, lightning, and GPS flight plan on a single display. The GMX200 only allow certain combinations of flight plan and sensor data on any given page, and require more button pushes to view the data you want to see. The MX20 doesn't allow you to view XM weather and your full Moving Map at the same time.
  • EX500 has dedicated radar knobs for bearing and tilt control. The GMX200 requires numerous button pushes to get to the radar page and button pushes for every degree of tilt or bearing.
  • EX500 has MultiLink. MultiLink is the combination of the EX500's integrated two-way datalink capability coupled with the Heads Up XMD-076/A for XM datalink weather, to provide the most capable datalink solution available. In the event that you fly into Canada or the Caribbean, the two-way datalink has the ability to automatically provide non-CONUS datalink information, where XM would otherwise drop out.
  • Avidyne has FlightCenter. FlightCenter is Avidyne's exclusive ground-side web portal which allows you the ability to take full advantage of the EX500's two-way datalink capability for Flight Tracking and two-way Text Messaging. Because the EX500 has a two-way datalink channel, you now have the ability to send data to the ground. FlightCenter takes advantage of this by allowing you to designate persons on the ground to view the status of your flight (Flight Tracking) and communicate with you while you are en route through two-way text messaging.
  • EX500 is the best value. You can save thousands of dollars on a more capable system with the EX500. (see pricing comparison below).
  • EX500 is available NOW. The EX500 is the best MFD in GA, and its available nowa dn comes complete with CMax™ Charts. With additional Package pricing, you can affordably add TAS600 traffic as well.
