Based in Lincoln, Mass., Avidyne Corporation is the market-leading developer of Integrated Flight Deck Systems for light general aviation (GA) aircraft. Avidyne’s Entegra line revolutionized flying in 2003 as the first Integrated Flight Deck for light GA. Avidyne’s continuing leadership in innovation and its Flying Made Simple™ design philosophy make flying safer, more accessible and more enjoyable for pilots and their passengers. The company’s expanding line of products include Entegra integrated flight decks for new aircraft, Envision integrated flight decks for existing aircraft, datalink-capable EX5000 and EX500 multi-function displays and the dual-antenna TAS600 series of active traffic advisory systems, the MLB700 broadcast datalink receiver and the TWX670 Tactical Weather Detection system. Experienced entrepreneur and pilot Dan Schwinn founded Avidyne in 1994 with the mission of modernizing GA avionics with technology that improved safety and increased aircraft utility and value. “As a pilot and aircraft owner, I was struck by how little GA cockpits had changed over the last thirty years,” said Schwinn. “I saw huge potential to develop a core technology and define a new generation of avionics that improve flying safety.”

In 2005, Schwinn and fellow aviation visionary Paul Ryan united in the merger of Avidyne and Ryan International. Ryan, a 40-year industry veteran who founded Ryan International in 1981, is world-renowned as the inventor of the Stormscope® weather system, as well has their complete line of collision avoidance systems. The combined company brings together avionics leaders and extends Avidyne’s technical capabilities and market reach.
