This position is open for a multidisciplinary, self-motivated, highly dynamic individual with excellent PCB design skills. The Circuit Board Implementation Engineer is primarily responsible for combining the electrical schematics, mechanical design, and other system requirements into a physical PCBA implementation. This includes supporting board fabrication, processing, assembly, and test. Secondary responsibilities include mechanical design, drafting, electrical troubleshooting, prototyping, initial bring-up, environmental test, vendor management, component engineering, and lifecycle support. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be able to create or modify mechanical designs for electronics packaging.

The Circuit Board Implementation Engineer is a key member of the Avidyne Hardware Engineering Team, a multidisciplinary, tight-knit group of engineers and technicians who develop and support Avidyne’s wide array of products and projects. Each member of the team is required to both specialize in their field and cross-train in other disciplines.


  • Circuit Board Implementation and Documentation
  • Circuit Board fab house support and management
  • Component engineering and lifecycle support
  • Mechanical design and drafting
  • Application of professional ethics and judgment in developing safety of flight/life critical equipment
  • Willingness to take on tasks outside of PCB layout as required.

Skills and Core Competencies:

  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Extensive experience with layout software including rules based design, hierarchical design, DRC, ERC, layer stack development, placement, routing, and fabrication output generation, markup, and review
  • Experience with mixed signal, high speed digital, power, and RF designs
  • Knowledge of modern PCB production technologies and methods
  • Knowledge of IPC Standards and familiarity with UL, and other relevant electrical standards
  • Willingness to learn new skills and branch out as required
  • Mechanical design and 3D modeling in SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or similar


  • AS degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred

Other Desirable Experience:

  • Altium Designer Training/Experience
  • Experience in the design of high reliability, safety critical equipment (military, avionics, clinical-medical or similar devices).
  • Familiarity with Environmental Testing (such as MIL-STD-810 or DO-160).
  • Pilot’s license, flight training, or familiarity with general aviation.
